Abstract

The influence of pulp type, refining speed, the carboxyl groups content, WRV, the dosage of synthetic and natural polyelectrolytes on the electrokinetic potential, cationic demand and the surface available charge are revealed. The observed electrokinetic relationships confirm the main role of hydroxyl groups and water dipoles for the formation and carrying out the negative electric charge.
