Abstract

The article provides a historical analysis of formation of the scientific heritage of “Forest Journal” and assessment of its role in the development of the forest sector. Some scientific ideas are traced from their origination and long-term development to putting into practice. The necessity of systematic study of the scientific heritage of “Forest Journal” is substantiated, as well as of its structuring and adaptation to modern research conditions. In addition, the paper proves the need for government support of specialized science in time of reforms.
