Abstract

The article deals with the history of forest development in the Arkhangelsk region, which occupies a special geopolitical position for the forest sector of Russia and its international timber trade; the article also concerns the current state of operational stocks and priority actions related to the need to radically improve reforestation and introduce a new economic mechanism to balance the interests of all main parties in the sphere of forestry.
