Investigation of Tapping Effect with Various Chemicals Used on the Yield of Commercial Assortments

Abstract

The effect of chemicals stimulating tapping on trees mortality, current increase in output by volume and commercial assortments yield has been analysed. The use of 50 % and 75 % sulfuric acid causes trees mortality increase (up to 15 % for 10 year period). With proper tapping methods used, the decrease in current growth increment is small and timber output does not change significantly.
