“Lesnoy zhurnal” is the oldest naturalistic and forestry scientific periodical since 1833. Since 1958 it has been published in a series of the “Bulletin of higher educational institutions. Lesnoy Zhurnal”.
“Lesnoy zhurnal” maintains good traditions and the main idea of the unity of forestry, science and practice, constantly expanding the themes and the range of issues. It publishes the research papers in all fields of forestry, reports on the manufacturing application of the results of completed studies, on the best practices in forestry and forest industries, information on the scientific life of the higher educational institutions, promotional contents and announcements. The founder and publisher is the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov. NArFU Publishing House under name of V.N. Bulatov. The “Bulletin of higher educational institutions. Lesnoy zhurnal” is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles. The journal is reviewed by the Russian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information of the Russian Academy of Sciences (VINITI RAS), is indexed in the system of the Russian Science Citation Index. “Lesnoy zhurnal” meets the international standards and is included in the international databases Ulrich’s Periodical’s Directory, AGRIS, EBSCO, J-Gate, Chemical Abstracts Service. Full-text articles are placed in the electronic library systems: eLIBRARY.RU, KiberLeninka, Lan. The journal archive is presented in the NArFU electronic library since 1958. Annually 6 issues of the journal and more than 120 original articles are published. Every article provides metadata (an abstract, keywords, references, an information about the authors) in Russian and English. The International DOI indexes are assigned to all articles. The members of the Editorial Board are the scholars from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Bryansk, Krasnoyarsk, Petrozavodsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Arkhangelsk, Lviv (Ukraine), Minsk (Belarus), Suonenjoki (Finland), Steinkjer (Norway), Emden (Germany), Brno (Czech Republic), Zurich (Switzerland), Hvanneyri (Iceland), Orono (United States). Their names are in the journal. The Editorial Board provides a high scientific level of the published articles, determines the formation of the writing staff and editorial portfolio. The writing staff of the journal is represented by the scientists, young researchers, postgraduate students, university professors from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Finland, Germany, Italy, Vietnam, Israel and other countries. The editorial portfolio is composed from more than 15 thousand articles for 58 years. Our reviewers are the leading scientists in all fields of the forest science. Every article passes two review levels: the initial internal review, which is carried out by the editor-in-chief, his deputies and members of the Board, and the external and independent review (two-way and blind), when a reviewer does not know the name of the author, and the author does not know the name of the reviewer. The editors often get the letters from the authors with the acknowledgements to their anonymous opponents for the qualified evaluation of the articles. The fee for the publication of the articles is not charged, royalties are not paid. “Lesnoy zhurnal” is open for the cooperation with the Russian and foreign scientists, doctoral students, postgraduate students. We aim to expand the audience and to strengthen positions of the journal in the scientific community at the international level.
