Various grading standards analysis of export sawn timber quality assessment

Abstract

Maximum market achievements are gained by those timber exporters who are capable to offer the sawn goods in full accordance with the buyers’ requirements. In order to improve their market position, sawmills are able to produce export goods according to both the traditional rules (GOST 26002-83) and Scandinavian Grading Rules (Nordic Timber). Two named grading systems have significant wood defects and manufacture faults assessment dissimilarities.
