Abstract

On the basis of research into the nature of forest fires and mathematical modeling of their spread, a new method of estimating minimum distance from the base strip to the fire edge during controlled burning start is suggested. The method allows us to evaluate the possibility of stopping the edge of a forest fire with the help of controlled burning and assess the width of the burnt strip.
